Description

Double-E is perfect for any season, a caffeine-free loose tea built around two of our most-asked-for herbs: elderberry and echinacea. Add hot water and you get a cup that's earthy and lightly tart, with a soft cool finish from the peppermint.

The blend reads like a walk through an old country garden. Whole elderberries bring a deep, jammy fruit note, the dried berry of the European elder. Echinacea purpurea (both the herb and the root) is the purple coneflower so many of us know from the back of the perennial bed, with its dry, slightly grassy character. Peppermint leaf threads cooling brightness through the cup. Rose hips, the small red-orange fruit left behind after a rose blooms, adds a gentle citrusy tang. Nettle leaf gives the brew a soft, green undertone, and a small measure of eleuthero root (sometimes called Siberian ginseng) rounds out the bottom with an earthy, woody warmth.

We blend and pack it here on our farm in small batches. Loose-leaf, so you can steep it your way: heap a teaspoon or three into an infuser, pour hot water over, let it sit for five minutes. Sweeten with a drizzle of honey if you like. It's the kind of tea we reach for on chilly evenings and quiet Saturday mornings, a warm cup in both hands.

Ingredients: Elderberry Whole, Echinacea Purpurea Herb, Echinacea Purpurea Root, Peppermint Leaf, Rose Hips, Nettle Leaf, & Eleuthero Root.

How to Use

Instructions / How To Use:

  1. Heat 1 cup of water, remove from heat.
  2. Add 1-3 teaspoons of tea into a tea strainer.
  3. Pour water over herbs and steep for 5 mins.
  4. Remove tea strainer and herbs. Sweeten if desired and enjoy!

Tincture Instructions:

Make your tincture by filling a jar 1/3 to 1/2 full of herbs. Use 1/3 for hard herbs and roots (as they will absorb more liquid) and 1/2 for soft or fluffy herbs. Fill the jar to the top with alcohol (80-90 proof Vodka is best), close it, and store for 3-8 weeks in a cool, dry place. Shake the jar daily. After 3-8 weeks, strain and discard the herbs, bottle the liquid and label it.

Ingredients

Elderberry Whole, Echinacea Purpurea Herb, Echinacea Purpurea Root, Peppermint Leaf, Rose Hips, Nettle Leaf, & Eleuthero Root.

Precautions

Because this blend contains echinacea, it is intended for occasional use rather than daily long-term use. Avoid use if you are allergic to echinacea or other plants in the Asteraceae family. Elderberries are best used in cooked preparations; do not eat elderberries raw or unprepared, and avoid unripe berries, stems, leaves, and other plant parts, which may cause digestive upset. If using the dried elderberries from this blend in baking, cook them fully into the recipe. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional before adding herbal products to your routine, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or take medications.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Returns
A quick note before you check out: here's how we get your order from our farm to your front porch, and what to expect along the way.

When We Ship
We ship Monday through Thursday, holidays excepted. Most orders go out the door in 1 to 4 business days. During sales and the holiday rush we may run a little behind, and we appreciate your patience when that happens.

US Shipping Rates
Flat rate shipping is $8.50, and standard US shipping is on us for orders over $89. We send packages through USPS or UPS, and you'll get a tracking number by email the moment your order leaves the warehouse.

A small ask on delivery...
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout and make sure it's somewhere your package can land safely. Once your order is in the carrier's hands, lost, stolen, or misdelivered packages are out of our reach, and the carrier will be your best contact for tracking questions. Hold onto that tracking number, it's your lifeline if anything goes sideways in transit.

Fabric Orders
Because every fabric cut is made just for you, we're unable to accept fabric returns once it's been cut, shipped, washed, or worked with. We know that's a firmer line than we'd like to draw, and we wish we could be more flexible here, but cut yardage simply can't go back on the bolt for the next maker.

Non-Fabric Returns
We accept returns on non-fabric items within 30 days for store credit, provided they are returned in new condition with the original packaging and tags still attached. Return shipping is the customer's to cover.

Items need to arrive free of damage, including pet hair, smoke, perfume, stains, holes, or tears. Once your return arrives at our warehouse, allow up to 5 days for the store credit to be processed.

A few things we can't take back: final sale items marked 50% off or more and grab bags. We also have the right to decline a refund for anything that shows signs of alteration, misuse, or damage, or that was a final sale at the time of purchase.

And one more shipping note: we can't cover lost, stolen, or damaged packages in transit, so please keep that tracking number handy.

How store credit works...
Once your return arrives and we've had a chance to look it over, we'll issue a store credit code equal to the product's value (excluding original shipping and package protection). The code lands in your inbox at the email address you used to order, and it doesn't expire, so you can spend it whenever the right thing catches your eye.

Rooted in Old-Fashioned Traditions

From our farm to your front porch...

We're a family in the Missouri Ozarks, with a deep love for traditional folk skills and good ol' country living. We blend herbs and pack orders by hand, the same way we do most things around here: a little slower, a little more careful, with people we love pitching in. There's a whole story behind Home Folk, and we'd love to share it. Come meet the folks behind your order.
