Japanese Fabric
Japanese cotton has a way of feeling different in your hands the minute you pick it up. The weave is tighter, the prints are quieter, and the colors tend toward the soft and the considered. The mills behind these fabrics have been making cloth for generations, and it shows in the drape and the way the dye sits in the fiber.
Our Japanese fabric collection leans on a few makers we keep coming back to. The Cosmo Twist Yarn-Dyed Fabric Rolls are the workhorses of the collection, beautifully soft and woven so the color goes all the way through. Strawberries & Bunnies is a small-print sweetheart for baby quilts, and the Textile Pantry florals in blue, brown, and yellow add a quiet vintage feel to anything they touch.
Japanese cotton plays beautifully with Liberty Tana Lawn for fine-handwork projects, and the small prints suit our English paper piecing hexies especially well.
