Terms of Use
Last updated: July 7, 2026
1. Overview
This website is operated by Home Folk, LLC, doing business as Home Folk and the Bulk Herb Store (“Home Folk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Throughout these Terms of Service, the words “you” and “your” refer to any visitor to our website and any customer who purchases or uses our products or services.
Home Folk offers this website, including the information, products, features, tools, and services available through it, conditioned upon your acceptance of these Terms of Service and all policies referenced in them.
By visiting our website, creating an account, placing an order, subscribing to a service, joining a rewards program, submitting content, or otherwise using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our website or services.
Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform through which we offer our products and services.
2. Eligibility and Online Store Terms
You must be at least the age of majority in your state, province, or country of residence to make a purchase from our website. A parent or legal guardian may allow a minor dependent to browse or use the website under the parent or guardian’s supervision.
You may not use our website or products for an unlawful or unauthorized purpose. You may not violate any applicable local, state, federal, provincial, national, or international law while using our website or services.
You may not transmit viruses, malware, destructive code, or any material intended to interfere with the operation or security of the website.
We may suspend or terminate access to our website or services if we reasonably believe that these Terms have been violated.
3. Products We Offer
Home Folk offers products that may include:
-
Loose-leaf teas and tea bags;
-
Dried herbs, flowers, roots, berries, spices, seasonings, and powders;
-
Pantry and culinary products;
-
Salves, tinctures, soaps, bath products, and other personal-care items;
-

-
Sewing, embroidery, quilting, English paper piecing, and needlework supplies;
-
Craft tools, kits, patterns, notions, and accessories;
-
Gift cards, subscription products, rewards, promotions, and other merchandise.
Our product selection may change at any time. Products may be available only online, in limited quantities, seasonally, by subscription, or while supplies last.
4. Product Information and Natural Variation
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate product descriptions, ingredient information, dimensions, quantities, photographs, colors, and other details. However, we do not guarantee that all website content will be completely free from typographical errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
Colors may appear differently depending on the screen, device, lighting, photography, fabric dye lot, printing process, or production batch.
Herbs, teas, spices, dried flowers, botanicals, soaps, salves, fabrics, and handcrafted or naturally derived products may vary in color, aroma, flavor, texture, cut, appearance, weight, or consistency from one harvest or batch to another. These natural variations are not necessarily defects.
Fabric patterns and directional prints may be cut from different portions of a design. The exact placement of motifs may therefore differ from product photographs.
Packaging may occasionally change without notice, provided the product itself remains materially the same.
5. Herbs, Foods, Teas, and Wellness-Related Information
Information provided on our website, product pages, labels, emails, social-media accounts, blog posts, printed materials, and other communications is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
It is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Our products and educational materials are not a substitute for care or advice from a qualified physician, pharmacist, registered dietitian, veterinarian, or other licensed healthcare professional.
You are responsible for determining whether a product is appropriate for you and for using it according to its label and instructions. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before using herbs, teas, tinctures, supplements, essential oils, salves, or similar products, particularly if you:
-
Are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding;
-
Are giving a product to a child;
-
Have an allergy, medical condition, or upcoming surgery;
-
Take prescription or over-the-counter medications;
-
Are sensitive to caffeine or particular plants; or
-
Have questions about possible interactions or side effects.
Discontinue use and seek appropriate medical attention if you experience an adverse reaction.
Statements describing traditional, historical, culinary, or customary uses of an ingredient are not promises that the product will produce a particular health result.
6. Allergies, Ingredients, and Cross-Contact
Customers are responsible for reviewing all ingredient lists, allergen statements, usage instructions, and warnings before purchasing or using a product.
Products may be packed, stored, or handled in facilities that also handle other herbs, spices, botanicals, foods, or ingredients. Although we follow applicable handling and cleaning procedures, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from trace amounts of other materials or potential allergens unless we expressly state otherwise.
Do not use a product if you are allergic or sensitive to any listed ingredient or related botanical family. Contact us before purchasing if you need clarification about ingredients or handling practices.
Ingredients and suppliers may occasionally change. Always review the label on the product you receive rather than relying solely on a previous purchase or older website description.
7. Proper Use of Products
You agree to follow all product labels, directions, warnings, care instructions, age recommendations, and safety information.
Crafting and sewing products may include needles, pins, blades, scissors, adhesives, irons, small pieces, cords, or other items that require adult supervision or careful handling. Some items may present choking, cutting, burning, strangulation, or other hazards if misused.
Unless a product is expressly identified as appropriate for children, our products are intended for purchase and use by adults. Keep herbs, tinctures, personal-care products, sharp tools, small craft pieces, and packaging materials away from children and pets.
Products sold for culinary, cosmetic, decorative, or crafting purposes must not be used for a different purpose unless the product description expressly authorizes that use.
8. Pricing and Availability
Prices, product descriptions, promotions, discounts, and availability are subject to change without notice.
We may limit quantities purchased per customer, household, account, payment method, billing address, shipping address, or order. We may also discontinue a product or promotion at any time.
An item being displayed as available does not guarantee that it remains in stock when an order is processed. Inventory discrepancies, simultaneous purchases, damaged inventory, or technical errors may occasionally cause an item to become unavailable after an order is placed.
If a product is unavailable, we may cancel the affected item and issue a refund, contact you about an alternative, or take another reasonable action with your agreement.
Prices generally do not include taxes, shipping, duties, customs charges, or other fees unless expressly stated.
9. Orders and Payment
By placing an order, you represent that:
-
The information you provide is accurate and complete;
-
You are authorized to use the payment method submitted;
-
You authorize us and our payment providers to charge the total shown at checkout; and
-
You agree to pay all applicable prices, taxes, shipping costs, duties, and fees.
An order confirmation acknowledges that we received your order. It does not necessarily mean that we have accepted or fulfilled it.
We reserve the right to refuse, limit, hold, or cancel an order for reasons that may include:
-
Suspected fraud or unauthorized payment;
-
Pricing, inventory, or product-description errors;
-
Unusual order quantities;
-
Violation of these Terms;
-
An inability to verify customer or payment information;
-
Shipping restrictions;
-
Suspected resale activity where prior approval is required; or
-
A product being unavailable.
If we cancel a paid order, we will refund the amount charged for the canceled portion using the original payment method, unless another method is required by law or agreed upon.
You agree to keep your account, billing, shipping, email, and payment information accurate and current.
10. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotions, discount codes, free gifts, free-shipping offers, and special pricing are subject to the terms stated with the particular offer.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
Discounts cannot be combined;
-
Discounts have no cash value;
-
Discounts cannot be applied retroactively;
-
Discounts may exclude certain products, subscriptions, gift cards, or brands;
-
A minimum purchase amount is calculated after discounts and before taxes and shipping;
-
Free gifts are available only while supplies last; and
-
We may correct, suspend, or cancel a promotion affected by an error, misuse, or fraud.
Items purchased as part of a bundle, buy-one-get-one offer, free-gift promotion, or similar offer may be subject to adjusted refund amounts if only part of the qualifying purchase is returned.
11. Gift Cards
Home Folk gift cards may be used only for eligible purchases through Home Folk unless otherwise stated.
Gift cards:
-
Are not redeemable for cash except where required by law;
-
May not be used to purchase another gift card if restricted at checkout;
-
Must be protected like cash;
-
May be subject to fraud-prevention review; and
-
Cannot ordinarily be replaced if lost, stolen, deleted, or used without authorization.
Gift-card purchases and redemptions are also subject to any terms displayed on the gift-card product page or at checkout.
12. Subscriptions and Recurring Purchases
Certain products or clubs may be offered as recurring subscriptions. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us and our payment provider to charge the payment method on file at the price and frequency disclosed when you enroll, until the subscription is canceled or otherwise ends.
Subscription prices, shipment frequency, renewal dates, product contents, cancellation procedures, and other material terms will be disclosed before purchase or in the applicable Subscription Policy.
You are responsible for:
-
Maintaining a valid payment method;
-
Keeping your shipping and contact information current; and
-
Managing, pausing, skipping, or canceling your subscription within any stated deadline.
Changes or cancellations submitted after an order has already been processed may apply only to future renewals.
We may modify or discontinue a subscription program. Where required, we will provide notice of material changes before they take effect.
Any subscription offered through our website is also governed by our posted Subscription Policy and the terms presented at enrollment.
13. Loyalty and Rewards Programs
Participation in any Home Folk loyalty or rewards program is subject to the rules displayed for that program.
Points, credits, rewards, referral benefits, birthday rewards, or similar benefits:
-
Have no cash value;
-
Are not property;
-
May be subject to expiration or account-status requirements;
-
Cannot be sold, transferred, or combined between accounts unless expressly permitted;
-
May be canceled if obtained through fraud, abuse, duplicate accounts, or technical error; and
-
May be changed or discontinued as permitted by law.
We may correct a rewards balance if points or benefits were issued in error.
14. Shipping, Delivery, and Risk of Loss
Orders are shipped according to our posted Shipping Policy and the shipping information presented at checkout.
Processing and delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly guarantee a date in writing. Carrier delays, weather, natural disasters, customs processing, holidays, labor disruptions, incorrect addresses, and other circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect delivery.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Additional shipping costs caused by an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address may be the customer’s responsibility.
Ownership and risk of loss pass as provided by applicable law and the selected shipping arrangement. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
International customers are responsible for understanding applicable import restrictions and for paying duties, taxes, brokerage fees, or customs charges unless checkout expressly states that such costs are included.
Please review our Shipping Policy for additional information about processing times, tracking, delayed packages, damaged shipments, and delivery concerns.
15. Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges
Returns, refunds, exchanges, cancellations, and damaged-item claims are governed by our posted Return Policy.
Certain products may be ineligible for return because of their nature, including, where stated in our Return Policy:
-
Food, tea, herbs, spices, powders, tinctures, and other ingestible products;
-
Opened, used, or unsealed personal-care products;
-
Cut fabric or other material cut to a customer’s requested quantity;
-
Digital products, patterns, or downloads;
-
Gift cards;
-
Clearance or final-sale items;
-
Personalized or specially prepared goods; and
-
Products that cannot safely or hygienically be resold.
Any product-specific return restriction shown on a product page forms part of these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a refund, replacement, or other remedy that applicable law requires.
16. Accounts and Account Security
You may be able to create an account to manage orders, subscriptions, rewards, or other features.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity conducted through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You may not create an account using false information, impersonate another person, or use another person’s account without permission.
We may suspend, restrict, or close an account that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, abusive, compromised, or in violation of these Terms.
17. Intellectual Property
The website and its contents—including our business names, logos, trademarks, product names, photographs, graphics, illustrations, videos, written copy, recipes, original tea or product descriptions, website design, downloadable materials, and other content—are owned by or licensed to Home Folk and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may use the website for personal, noncommercial shopping and informational purposes.
Without our prior written permission, you may not:
-
Copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit our content;
-
Use our photographs or written product descriptions on another website or marketplace;
-
Remove copyright, trademark, or ownership notices;
-
Use our name, branding, or content in a manner that suggests sponsorship or affiliation;
-
Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract website data; or
-
Create derivative commercial materials from our protected content.
Products made from fabrics, patterns, kits, templates, or licensed designs may also be subject to the intellectual-property or resale restrictions of the applicable designer, publisher, or manufacturer. You are responsible for reviewing and following those restrictions.
18. Reviews, Photographs, and Customer Submissions
You may have the opportunity to submit reviews, photographs, comments, questions, testimonials, suggestions, contest entries, or other content.
You retain ownership of content you create. By submitting it to us, you grant Home Folk a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, edit, display, distribute, and publish that content in connection with our business, products, website, emails, advertising, and social-media channels, unless prohibited by law.
You represent that:
-
You own the content or have permission to submit it;
-
The content is truthful and based on your genuine experience;
-
The content does not infringe another person’s rights;
-
The content does not reveal another person’s private information without permission; and
-
The content is not unlawful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or malicious.
We may moderate or remove submissions, but we have no obligation to publish or retain them.
We will not knowingly use a customer’s private medical information as promotional content without appropriate permission.
19. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may use or link to services operated by third parties, including Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, subscription providers, review platforms, rewards providers, social-media platforms, analytics services, and other applications.
We do not control third-party websites or services and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, or independent actions.
Your use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy. Review those terms before using the service or providing information.
A third-party link does not necessarily mean that Home Folk endorses every statement, product, or service on that website.
20. Email and Text Communications
By providing your email address or telephone number and affirmatively subscribing, you may consent to receive promotional or transactional communications from us in accordance with the disclosures presented when you enroll.
Consent to receive promotional email or text messages is not a condition of purchase.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link included in an email. You may opt out of marketing text messages by replying STOP to a marketing message. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary.
Transactional communications concerning an order, account, subscription, security issue, or customer-service request may still be sent when reasonably necessary.
If we operate a mobile-message program through a third-party provider, participation may also be governed by separately posted Mobile Messaging Terms. If separate Mobile Messaging Terms conflict with this section concerning the text program, the more specific Mobile Messaging Terms will govern that program.
21. Personal Information
Our collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using our website, you acknowledge that information may be processed by us, Shopify, and other service providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
Please review our Privacy Policy and available privacy-choice tools for more information.
22. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the website or services:
-
For an unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose;
-
To violate intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
-
To harass, threaten, abuse, defame, discriminate against, or harm another person;
-
To submit false or misleading information;
-
To transmit malicious code or interfere with website security;
-
To collect another person’s information without authorization;
-
To send spam, phishing messages, or unsolicited promotions;
-
To scrape, crawl, spider, harvest, or extract website content or customer information without authorization;
-
To evade purchase limits, security measures, or fraud controls;
-
To make fraudulent returns, chargebacks, claims, referrals, reviews, or rewards transactions;
-
To impersonate another individual or organization; or
-
To use our products, branding, content, or services in a manner prohibited by law.
We may restrict or terminate access for prohibited conduct.
23. Errors, Inaccuracies, and Omissions
Our website may occasionally contain typographical errors, inaccurate information, or omissions relating to product descriptions, ingredients, quantities, prices, promotions, shipping charges, delivery estimates, or availability.
We reserve the right to correct errors, update information, limit quantities, or cancel affected orders, including after an order is submitted, subject to applicable law.
If we cancel an order because of our error, we will refund amounts paid for the canceled portion.
24. Availability of the Website
We do not guarantee that the website or any feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We may maintain, modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the website or a feature when reasonably necessary. We are not responsible for interruptions caused by internet outages, third-party services, maintenance, cyberattacks, natural events, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
25. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, its content, and the services made available through it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Except for warranties expressly provided in writing or warranties that cannot legally be excluded, Home Folk disclaims implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.
We do not warrant that:
-
The website will always be uninterrupted or error-free;
-
Product colors or images will appear identically on every device;
-
Naturally derived products will be identical from batch to batch;
-
Educational information will apply to every individual; or
-
A product will produce a particular personal, health, culinary, or creative result.
Nothing in these Terms limits warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
26. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Home Folk, LLC and its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, suppliers, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or related to your use of the website, services, or products.
This may include loss of profits, revenue, savings, data, business opportunity, or replacement costs, even if we were advised that such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for a claim relating to a product or order will not exceed the amount you paid to Home Folk for the product or order giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including any liability that applicable law requires us to accept.
27. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Home Folk, LLC and its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, suppliers, service providers, and licensors from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:
-
Your material violation of these Terms;
-
Your unlawful or unauthorized use of the website or services;
-
Content you submit;
-
Your infringement of another person’s rights; or
-
Your violation of applicable law.
This section does not require you to indemnify us for conduct for which indemnification cannot legally be required.
28. Termination
These Terms remain effective while you use our website or services.
You may stop using the website at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, misuse our services, engage in fraud, threaten the security of the website, or create legal exposure for us.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including provisions concerning payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution—will remain in effect.
29. Governing Law
These Terms and any separate agreement through which we provide products or services will be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
Any legal proceeding arising from these Terms or your use of our website or services shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Missouri, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a proceeding elsewhere.
30. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or severed to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
31. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce that provision or another provision later.
32. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Return Policy, Shipping Policy, Subscription Policy, and any product-specific or program-specific terms displayed on our website, constitute the entire agreement between you and Home Folk concerning your use of the website and services.
If a product-specific or program-specific term conflicts with these general Terms, the more specific term will govern that product or program to the extent of the conflict.
33. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a revised version on this page and changing the “Last updated” date.
Changes will apply prospectively from the date they are posted unless otherwise stated or required by law.
Your continued use of the website after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes to subscriptions or other ongoing paid services will be communicated as required by law.
