Burdock Root, Cut & Sifted, 1/2 LB.

Sale price $15.75
Description

Burdock is one of those old, dependable roots that folk herbalists have reached for across generations. A member of the Asteraceae family, the plant carries purple, thistle-like flowers and goes by a handful of country names: lappa, thorny burr, beggar's buttons, clothburr.

Ours arrives cut and sifted, ready to measure into a tea strainer. The flavor is earthy and a little sweet, the kind of grounded, woodsy cup that suits a slow afternoon. It's caffeine-free, so it sits just as well in the evening.

Naturally grown, pesticide-free, sourced from our network of growers and packed by hand at our farm in the Missouri Ozarks. If you're stocking the herbal shelf, you'll find its neighbors over in our bulk herbs and botanicals, and the kettle-ready blends in our loose leaf tea collection.

Caffeine-free.

Ingredients: Burdock Root (Arctium lappa).

How to Use

Burdock Root has been respected as a folk remedy for generations. It can be used in recipes or teas.

1. Bring 1 cup of water to almost boiling, remove from heat.
2. Add 1-2 teaspoons of burdock into a tea strainer.
3. Pour water over burdock and steep for 1-3 mins. Remove tea strainer and herbs. Sweeten if desired.

Ingredients

Burdock Root (Arctium lappa).

Precautions

Not recommended for use during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding. If you are allergic to plants such as ragweed, daisies, and/or chrysanthemums, you could have an allergy to burdock as well. Also avoid if you are taking diuretics, are diabetic, or are taking blood thinners.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping & Returns
A quick note before you check out: here's how we get your order from our farm to your front porch, and what to expect along the way.

When We Ship
We ship Monday through Thursday, holidays excepted. Most orders go out the door in 1 to 4 business days. During sales and the holiday rush we may run a little behind, and we appreciate your patience when that happens.

US Shipping Rates
Flat rate shipping is $8.50, and standard US shipping is on us for orders over $89. We send packages through USPS or UPS, and you'll get a tracking number by email the moment your order leaves the warehouse.

A small ask on delivery...
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout and make sure it's somewhere your package can land safely. Once your order is in the carrier's hands, lost, stolen, or misdelivered packages are out of our reach, and the carrier will be your best contact for tracking questions. Hold onto that tracking number, it's your lifeline if anything goes sideways in transit.

Fabric Orders
Because every fabric cut is made just for you, we're unable to accept fabric returns once it's been cut, shipped, washed, or worked with. We know that's a firmer line than we'd like to draw, and we wish we could be more flexible here, but cut yardage simply can't go back on the bolt for the next maker.

Non-Fabric Returns
We accept returns on non-fabric items within 30 days for store credit, provided they are returned in new condition with the original packaging and tags still attached. Return shipping is the customer's to cover.

Items need to arrive free of damage, including pet hair, smoke, perfume, stains, holes, or tears. Once your return arrives at our warehouse, allow up to 5 days for the store credit to be processed.

A few things we can't take back: final sale items marked 50% off or more and grab bags. We also have the right to decline a refund for anything that shows signs of alteration, misuse, or damage, or that was a final sale at the time of purchase.

And one more shipping note: we can't cover lost, stolen, or damaged packages in transit, so please keep that tracking number handy.

How store credit works...
Once your return arrives and we've had a chance to look it over, we'll issue a store credit code equal to the product's value (excluding original shipping and package protection). The code lands in your inbox at the email address you used to order, and it doesn't expire, so you can spend it whenever the right thing catches your eye.

There's a whole story behind Home Folk, and we'd love to share it. Come meet the folks behind your order.
