Home Folk Issues Voluntary Recall of Nutritional Yeast Powder for Undeclared Wheat Allergen

Home Folk / The Bulk Herb Store is voluntarily recalling its Nutritional Yeast Powder because the product contains wheat, a major allergen that was inadvertently omitted from the product’s packaging label and website listing. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

 

PRODUCT DETAILS

Product Name:	NUTRITIONAL YEAST POWDER
Size/Lot Affected:	1/4 LB. bags, Lot: 1007505 (Packed April 2025)
Reason for Recall:	Undeclared Wheat Allergy Hazard

 

The affected product was distributed nationwide online at HomeFolk.com between circa April 9, 2025 to May 1, 2026. The product was also distributed at a brick-and-mortar retail store located at Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company's Bakersville Pioneer Village in Mansfield, MO, between circa April 9, 2025 to May 5, 2026.

What you should do: If you still have this product in your possession, please discontinue use and discard it immediately. Do not consume this product if you or anyone in your household has a wheat allergy, sensitivity, or celiac disease.

For Online Home Folk Customers: We are actively contacting customers who purchased this product online at HomeFolk.com to notify and to issue full refunds.

For In-Store Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company Customers: If you purchased this product at Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company’s Bakersville Pioneer Village in Mansfield, MO, please do the following: Take a clear digital photo of the product label (showing the product identity) before discarding it. Bring your photo to the front counter of the Seed Store at Bakersville Pioneer Village, show the photo to the staff, and they will verify your item to issue a direct refund. No receipt is required. Online/Remote: If you prefer, you can request a direct refund from Home Folk by emailing a photo of the product label and/or your receipt to hello@homefolk.com.

Home Folk takes food safety and the wellbeing of our customers with the highest level of seriousness. We sincerely apologize for this incident. We are actively implementing strict internal allergen training and formal verification controls to ensure this oversight does not happen again.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of and in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
