Instructions / How To Use:
To prepare matcha tea, follow these simple steps:
1. Sift the matcha – Use a fine sieve to sift 1–2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a bowl to prevent clumps.
2. Heat water – Heat water to about 175°F (80°C), just below boiling. Using water that’s too hot can make the matcha taste bitter.
3. Whisk the matcha – Add about 2 ounces of hot water to the sifted matcha powder. Using a bamboo whisk (chasen), whisk the mixture briskly in a “W” or “M” motion until it becomes frothy and well-mixed.
4. Adjust to taste – If you prefer a stronger flavor, use more matcha powder or less water. For a milder taste, use less powder and more water.
5. Serve and enjoy – Once the matcha is frothy and well-mixed, it’s ready to drink. You can enjoy it as-is, or add milk or a milk alternative to create a matcha latte.
Ingredients (100% Natural, Culinary Grade):
Matcha (Camellia sinensis).
Precautions / Allergens:
Matcha tea is generally safe and offers numerous health benefits, but excessive consumption may pose some risks. It does contain caffeine so sensitive individuals should use caution. Excessive use of matcha (several cups per day) may stress the liver due to its high concentration of catechins (antioxidants), making moderation key. The tannins in matcha may also inhibit iron absorption, so individuals with iron deficiency should avoid drinking it with meals. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may want to avoid matcha due to its caffeine content and high levels of antioxidants which may interfere with folic acid absorption. For most people, consuming matcha in moderation (1–2 cups per day) is safe and beneficial. Please consult a healthcare professional with any concerns or questions before adding matcha to your routine.
